I use both painting and printmaking in my work. They feed off each other in a very positive way.
Sometimes, if I am having problems with a piece of work, I experiment in another medium
with the result that I not only solve the difficulty, but find something new which takes me in a direction
I may not have considered My work as a painter and printmaker usually develops side by side,
but occasionally in independent blocks. Often, after completing a series of paintings, I make prints on
the same theme, but discover that the germ of the idea is all that remains, as the prints, by their own
unique process have undergone a metamorphosis en route.

I rarely have a fixed endpoint in view,
as I begin tentatively with an idea, image or piece of text which I want to explore.

I work in the print
media of lithography, etching, and silkscreen.


Born in Edinburgh, from Italian and Irish stock,
I divide my time between Scotland, Switzerland and France.
Since 1981 I have exhibited my work all over the world, including
Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland,
USA and UK, and have work in private and public collections.
